In America in the beginning, the performing arts accomplishments of young Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely have put her in the prodigy child category. The traits she displayed were normal for an Irish-born child surrounded by gifted parents as well as a loving and supportive family. Maureen entered into this nurturing house on August 17th, 20th in Ranelagh. Her mother, Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons, was a skilled contralto. Charles FitzSimons ran a Dublin company, and also held shares of the Irish soccer team Shamrock Rovers. Maureen FitzSimons was second in a group of 6 FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara rounded off the gorgeous family. Maureen loved playing rough sports when she was an infant and was extremely good at it. Her ability to perform was a perfect complement to her passion for sports. It was evident by her getting almost every Feis award for drama and theatrical performing her country offered. When she turned 14, she was accepted into the world-renowned Abbey Theater and pursued her dream of classical theater and operatic singing.
